A memory I had of Winter growing up was...

Across the street there was a hill that led to the golf course. A vacant yard 2 doors down had a fence we could crawl under to get to it. It was a pretty steep hill and we made jumps and everything. All the neighborhood kids would go there and we would sled for hours. All sorts of sleds were used, wooden with steel runners that we could steer with our feet, flat plastic that rolled up when you let go. But my favorite was overstuffed inner tubes. You would go fast but when you hit a bump- watch out! off you would fly!

Some winter memories I recall were snow piled high in the back yard and a little neighbor friend of ours running naked in his diaper through the snow or in his favorite tiger outfit. (Darin Fletcher)

I recall working on a huge snow toilet outside the back yard just in time for I think Marks farewell for his mission. All the guests were very impressed while having cookies and punch. I know I was.

One of my favorite winter memories is sitting in the wing back chair next to the window and watching Dad, Mark, Steve and Lori shoveling the drive and walks so that the neighbors would have a clear path to school. There would be hot chocolate for the sledders and shovelers.
I remember Dad putting on the brakes in the icy driveway and heading right through the garage door.
I remember Dad loosing his wedding ring in the snow and finding it the next spring.
I remember that it snowed once in Las Vegas when I was in the sixth grade and they let school out because we were way too excited to study.
I remember spending hours on halloween costumes which we covered up with boots, leggings and parkas because the snow was up to the kids knees.

Susie, I remember sledding at the golf course hill. When I was little we had to sneak into the Dickies backyard to jump the fence. After spending an entire afternoon out on the hill we would come in and Mom would make us "real" hot chocolate with milk and cocoa. My favorite was dunking "soldiers" (buttered toast cut in strips to look like soldiers) in my hot cocoa. What a great Mom. Oh ya and Dad would make us big hot mugs of postum, yummy yummy.
